The Take

Consensus is 41 picks high on Jonathon Brooks. He is gone before the wolves would draft him. This is a pass, not a wait.

The case

The market drafts Brooks at pick 96. The wolves rank him 137. He is returning from a serious injury. The wolves do not pretend the first year back is free. Let someone else pay the toll. The board is deep enough behind him.

Where to draft him

Round 8 · pick 12

The wolves let Brooks slide. The market pays around the late 8th, but they are not in until the mid 12th, so he is only worth it if he falls that far.
